US President Joe Biden has said the west will respond proportionately if Russia uses chemical weapons in Ukraine.  Western leaders are growing fearful Vladmir Putin could be about to use banned chemical weapons to gain the upper hand in the conflict.  

Dr Nick Ritchie, senior lecturer in International Security at the University of York spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning with more on this.
