There’s no doubt that you’ve received many emails that say “hope you are well” or other platitudes such as “hope you’re enjoying the weather!” and “hope you had a great weekend!”, even though the writer of this email probably doesn’t care in reality. So, why has this become a thing in email greetings, and how should we handle our correspondence?
