Over the past year, there has been a significant increase in the number of people in Ireland trying to improve their literacy.

The National Adult Literacy Agency received more than 40 percent extra calls over the past year compared to 2019.

Reporter Josh Crosbie spoke with those who provide the service and to those who have learnt to read in later life.
