Forty years ago, a tropical storm that began off the coast of the US travelled across the Atlantic to Ireland, picking up moisture along the way. It became Hurricane Charley, and arrived at the end of an already wet summer. It destroyed homes, cost five people their lives and in Bray, left fish on the road…
