A teenager in Tipperary had to be hospitalised after cutting down a highly toxic plant in his neighbour’s garden. When doing some garden work, he didn’t realise the huge plant was a giant hogweed, leaving him with severe burns and scarring.

It’s not native to Ireland, but has become quite common, so how can you identify it and what should you do if you see it growing in your garden or on the farm?
