Technology has undeniably made life easier, but with many women using period tracking apps to keep note of their cycle, researchers in Cambridge University are urging for this data to be protected.

The recommendation is for public health bodies in the UK to create an alternative to the private apps, but is this realistic?

And just how important is tracking your period?
