The Irish Naval Service are looking for 200 recruits in every aspect of the navy. Henry McKean travelled to Naval Headquarters in Haulbowline in Cork and he joined Sean on the show live in Cork. 

He spoked to Mike Brunicardi Lieutenant Commander and Ryan Vinie Kerk, a 29 year old who joined 3 and half years ago and was a personal trainer from South Africa but moved to Ireland as a child, his mum is Irish, he works in the engine rooms, and was involved in rescuing fishing vessels.

Henry also spoke to Ivan a recruit who has been getting an education whilst in the navy for the past year.

Women were only allowed to join in 1995, Seamen Simone Tadg left her supermarket career to join and told Henry it’s a great career...
