In Europe, earthworms are a sign of good healthy soil. And that idea persists in America as well. However, earthworms aren't native to large areas of the United States and are having detrimental impacts on the ecosystem over there. Dr. Annise Dobson, from the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University is an expert on this topic. She explained the damage worms can do.
