On the 12th of August 1946, a Junkers 52 aircraft took off from Paris Le Bourget with a group of French Girl Guides, bound for Dublin on the invitation of the Irish Girl Guides. The aircraft had twenty-six people on board, including the crew. En route, the plane crashed, and one of the Girl Guides, along with two of the crew, went out to search for help, leading to a miracle rescue.
