The country’s ageing population has been called a ‘significant risk’ facing Ireland in the coming years. The National Risk Assessment 2019, released yesterday, says the number of people aged 65 and over is projected to increase from one in eight to one in six by 2030, and that the number of people aged 85 and over is projected to almost double. Is it time for the pension to be ‘means-tested’? Ciara chats to Eamon Delaney, Author and Journalist with the Irish Independent and hears from listeners.
