Earlier this year we were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Detective Garda Colm Horkan who was killed in the line of duty in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, in June. 

But, his memory is to be honored with a new GAA memorial pitch and walkway. 

The facilities, expected to be finished by 2023, will be constructed and named after the detective at the Charlestown sarsfields club in his Co Mayo hometown. 

Colm’s brother Dermot Horkan & Liam Breheny, Charlestown sarsfields club chairman and also Colm’s cousin, joined Andrea on the show.
