It is estimated that Lyme Disease affects 50 to 100 people every year in Ireland. But as we have heard from callers over this week and last week the illness largely goes undiagnosed. TD Marc Mac Sharry tells Andrea "Patients are disgracefully being treated with ambivalence and dismissal of their symptoms. There is no PCR test for this, there is no definitive test. There is a need for physicians to become educated and embrace the reality of clinical diagnosis and apply appropriate treatment."
