Prisoners handed down a life sentence will now have to serve 12 years before being considered for parole, an increase from 7 years. 

Kathleen Chada is with us here on Lunchtime live, Kathleen ex husband Sanjiva Chada killed their two sons, Eoghan and Ruairi back in 2013, he was given two life sentences, and Kathleen spoke to Andrea. 

Gary Hamilton, an ex-prisoner, emotionally recounted how he had turned his life around upon his release.
