Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said Sinn Féin have an over-focus on a border poll and says he said  favours building a stronger ‘north-south relationship’. On the other hand - Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald says a referendum on Irish unity is “imperative” to growing the Irish economy. Speaking in the Dail on Tuesday she said: “A united Ireland is the best idea for the future of our country. “It is essential to the prosperity of all our people because growing our economy requires an all-Ireland approach. Would you like to see a referendum of Irish unity, or do you think it would be too divisive?
