Yesterday, the CAO issued over 82,000 offers to more than 55,000 applicants across the country. 

But, there has been a significant rise in the points requirement for most third level courses this year   

50% of Level 8 course did not receive their first choice   

Grade inflation and an increase in applications pushed more courses than ever above the 600 point mark, with random selection seeing many deserving students miss out.
