Two years ago a new global tax arrangement under the auspices of the OECD for large companies came into force after years of wrangling and much resistance from this country. It raised the minimum rate for corporation taxes on huge companies to 15%. It was part of a suite of global tax changes and was affectionately known as Pillar Two.
