Only four single-person homes are available to rent nationally within the limits of a housing assistance payment.
And just six are under the threshold for a family with one child.
That's according to a survey of 16 areas across the country, carried out by the Simon Communities.
Wayne Stanley, from the charity, says the report shows single people are suffering most in the housing crisis.
