Wexford County Council has developed a CCTV monitoring system, in a bid to lower the amount it spends on cleaning up its streets.
At present, the council spends almost €2.7m cleaning up litter each year.
It also has a freephone anti-litter hotline in place on 1800-386-733.
Wexford was unchanged in the latest IBAL litter survey back in January, being described as 'cleaner than European norms'.
Hugh Maguire is the administrative officer from the Environment Department of Wexford County Council.
He told Newstalk Breakfast they have been expanding the programme.
