A 10th day of strike action by Luas workers is taking place today.

Some 90,000 passengers are affected this morning by this industrial unrest that is showing no signs of abating.

The light rail service is in its 10th day of shutdown as part of the long running pay dispute at the company.

Even docking the pay of the striking workers has not deterred them, with four more days of scheduled strike action this month.

Both sides, the union and the company have reached deadlock with no immediate prospect of further meetings.

Two pay offers have been rejected by the Luas drivers so far - with the exception of a 13% deal with three non-driver grades.

Both the Red and Green lines will not be operating until 5.30am tomorrow, and the company is apologising for the inconvenience.

Martin Wall is industry correspondent with the Irish Times.

He told Newstalk Breakfast it is just the drivers on strike today.
