This morning the papers lead with stories of Mick Wallace’s NAMA allegations and the fallout from the Irish Water payment figures.
The Irish Times leads with the story of Mick Wallace’s allegations in the Dáil yesterday, while the Examiner and the Independent both have Irish Water as their headline story.
An external investigator being appointed to look into allegations of wrongdoing at the Banking Inquiry is also a focus of the broadsheets.
In the tabloids, a prison attack on Graham Dwyer is the front-page story of the Star, while the Sun leads with the story of the arrest of an alleged Irish Islamic State fighter by gardai.
Chris spotted a story on The Edge being refused from a bar in Boston, while Ivan was particularly interested in the claims of a British couple that their goldfish, Splash, is to celebrate his 38th birthday.
Ivan’s eye was particularly sensitive to goldfish stories today it seems as with Deirdre away he has been left to care for John-Joe, the primary school goldfish which the Yates family have taken in over the summer.
And it could be a dangerous week for John-Joe.
“John Joe isn’t going to survive the week I’d say,” Ivan told Chris.
“I don’t know how to feed him ... he didn’t move this morning.”
