Gardaí have seized 59,000 bottles of fake perfume, that story on the front page of The Irish Times.

Tens of thousands have been saved from bad scent this Christmas after investigators searched shipping containers brought into Dublin from China.

Staying with the Times, there is report out on the future funding of higher education: "Revenue may collect student loans under new scheme."

That could affect between 170 and 220,000 students over coming years.

All the newspapers have photographs of Ryan Tubridy on the set of tonight's RTÉ's Late Late Show.

The lead in The Irish Independent is: "Kenny forced into u-turn on abortion by key allies."

"Ex IFA boss wants to give his €1 million to charity."

The Irish Examiner has: "Shocking report reveals surgery blunders."

The Irish Daily Star: "Shame of our A&E", that story from the Mater in Dublin showing an elderly man sleeping on the floor of the hospital.

And in the same paper: "Gardaí take one million days off sick in five years."

The Irish Daily Mail: "IFA at war with ex-chief over €2 million pay-off."

That paper also has a story about a female teacher in a Dublin primary school who gave birth to her baby in the toilets at work.

The Irish Sun: "Loo must go to prison", that story about a man who defouled an apartment.

And gardaí warning there will be a crack down on morning after drink driving over this Christmas season.

The Shannon protection alliance are getting geared up to fight Irish Water plans to extract drinking water for Dublin's population - Ivan didn't take kindly to that story.

"Right, so we'll have no water in Dublin - thanks for that lad."

But Chris was taken with the idea of a priest who is offering to hear confessions at a shopping centre in Clare for busy Christmas consumers.

The Breakfast presenter's only concern was that everyone would see you coming out of the confession box and speculate about your sins.
