The Irish Independent's front page tells us "Pension up €3 a week in the Budget".

The Irish Times also has a Budget story "Budget to bring tax credits and USC reductions", but they are leading with the death of Garda Anthony Golden "Killer of garda had been given bail with DPP's consent - authorities face questions about how dissident had access to a handgun". That article is accompanied by an image of Garda Commissioner Noirín O'Sullivan.

And The Irish Examiner has the same image and the same story, their headline ""It's like losing one of the family" - Garda killed helping woman flee violence".

The Examiner also has "Coalition to restore 75% of Christmas bonus" on its front page.

All papers cover the story of Garda Shooter Adrian Crevan Mackin.

Most papers including the information that the State did not oppose bail despite the killer's past record.

Inside the papers, Gay Byrne tells The Sun the government's giveaway budget is a "disgrace" and a "bonanza of propoganda and spin".

Ivan said he could not understand how Minister for Health can fine hospital for mismanagement, while gifting them €600 million in the budget. The Irish Independent reports, with the exception of Bantry and St. Colmcille's face fines from the health authorities if they do not reduce waiting lists.
