There are doubts about whether former Anglo executives David Drumm and Sean FitzPatrick will comply with requests to appear before the Banking Inquiry.

It emerged last night that the committee has called both men to appear before its members next month.

It is believed they were notified three weeks ago, along with fellow former Anglo executives Willie McAteer and Pat Whelan.

They have given no indication of whether or not they will be attending.

Former Anglo Chief Executive David Drumm is now resident in the United States, where he is not subject to compellability orders from the inquiry.

Meanwhile, the former chairman of the bank Sean FitzPatrick faces trial in October over the alleged failure to disclose the value of loans worth millions of euro to the bank's auditors.

The Sunday Business Post markets editor, Ian Guider, told Newstalk Breakfast those issues mean neither man is likely to appear before TDs any time soon.
