Although support levels for the other major parties remains above 20%, the latest Ipsos MRBI shows a significant drop in support for Labour. Support for the party sits at a mere 6 per cent, down 3 points from the last report. The results mark the party's lowest public support rate in over 25 years. Ivan Yates says the results are “going to send a shockwave through the Labour Party. It may not actually be fair - they have a point in terms of they’re being punished for cleaning up the mess - but in politics there is no fairness.”
