Muppets Most Wanted is a real caper movie that has a new character, Constantine AKA The World’s Most Dangerous Frog. He also happens to look identical to Kermit and manages to escape from a Russian gulag and switch places. With Dominic Badguy’s (played by Ricky Gervais) help, he goes on a European tour with The Muppets, in a plan to frame them in the biggest jewel heist in history.

They actually make a stop in Dublin – sort of. While they say that they are here, The Muppets didn’t actually film any scenes in Ireland.

Kermit the Frog told Newstalk that we would love to come to Dublin however because he thinks that he would fit right in here, being as green as he is.

In the movie, the Irish Muppets are portrayed as leprechauns, which Kermit said he hopes "doesn’t cause any offence". He also said that the word Muppet can be used in a derogatory sense because “there were Muppets and someone interpreted that to mean a little dim-witted and with certain Muppets, that’s true!”

Ricky Gervias said that he is not beyond taking bribes for a good review of the movie.

He was at the press conference and shared a joke about a pay-off when asked about the role of an Irish journalist in the movie...

Muppets Most Wanted is a sequel of sorts to the 2011 film penned by Jason Segel. It’s a blend of what you would expect from the Muppets. It’s ebullient, innocent, funny, self referential and there are blink and you’ll miss them cameos with a plethora of stars.

It is released in Irish cinemas, this Friday the 28th of March.
