Gardaí are investigating after a group of young men were injured in a fall from the trailer of an articulated truck in Enniskerry, County Wicklow yesterday.

Nine people were taken to two separate hospitals in Dublin after the accident in Enniskerry just after 6pm.

Video shared on social media showed the young men celebrating on the trailer before a barrier gives way and they fall to the road.

They are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Tallaght and St Vincent's Hospitals.

In a statement, Enniskerry GAA said some of its players were badly injured in the incident.

It asked members of the public not to share the footage of the incident.

The road was closed for a short time but has since reopened.

In a tweet, the Health Minister Simon Harris said: "Thinking of those injured in Enniskerry and their families tonight.”

“Our entire community hopes and prays that everyone will be OK.”
