The single vehicle incident happened on the Dunshaughlin to Dunboyne Road at approximately 12.30.

The driver of the car- a 21 year old man -was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a ditch. Five other people-including three males and two females- were in the car. Their injuries are described as not life threatening.

The road is closed to allow gardai to carry out a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
