A young boy remains in hospital in Dublin following a serious road accident in Cork yesterday evening.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm at Barryroe, outside Clonakilty when a car hit the three year old.

The child was seriously injured and was transferred to Crumlin Children's hospital in Dublin by air ambulance.

Gardai at Bandon are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
