A man who was injured in an explosion in Youghal in Co Cork yesterday has died.

The man who was aged in his 20s was badly injured when an oil tank he was working on at a welding firm in Foxhole exploded.

He was airlifted to Cork University Hospital, where he passed away this afternoon.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is investigating the cause of the incident.
