The Irish Times reports this morning that the Galway Bike scheme is not working - each person registered is only using a bike about once a month.

Dublin Bikes makes €1.2 million a year and the Cork and Limerick schemes are a big success too, but only €20,000 is generated by the Galway scheme.

Chris Donoghue thinks it could be because the longest distance between stations is 1.7km.

The Irish Independent leads with the fact that rent controls will be sent to Cabinet today. Their headline is: "Curbs on landlords who evict to sell up". According to the report, you will have to present substantial evidence if you claim you are selling the house.

The Irish Times and The Examiner both find room on the front to cover the story of the Russian doping scandal. The Times says Irish athlete Rob Heffernan could be upgraded to a bronze medal from London Olympics.

The Irish Examiner leads with "Judge knew in August of risk to probe. Ex IBRC boss Dukes told of obstacles that may derail inquiry".

There are contrasting pictures on the front of three sisters on their way into court - two of the sisters waived their anonymity to go public about the abuse they suffered at the hands of their father John Joe Patterson. The other picture on the front page shows their mother entering court hand in hand with her daughters' abuser.

The Herald's story on the front page is "My five day hospital hell" - which concerns a Dublin grandmother who sought treatment at Tallaght hospital again.

The Mirror splashes "Back with a bang" - Love/Hate is coming back and it is the brutal John Connors who will be the mob boss.

The Daily Mail goes with their own columnist Brenda Power's court win over a column she wrote questioning violence in traveller culture. 

From inside the papers, The Irish Times has a map of what College Green in Dublin would look like if it was fully pedestrianised.

"I try not to buy fruit and veg in the supermarket", Chris responded. He was introducting a story in The Examiner about farmers support for "ugly vegetables". Some supermarkets have embraced the idea of selling odd looking produce.
