A woman has avoided jail time after admitting to stabbing her friend in the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin to get him out of a court appearance.
Rose Maughan of Mount Brown in Dublin 8 stabbed the man with a plastic knife that she had taken from the court canteen.
He then told gardai he had been attacked by a gang of men near the courthouse, but the entire incident was caught on camera.

Maughan was given a 12-month sentence today but it was suspended in full.
