A man has been taken away by gardai after threatening to jump from a roof in Dublin city centre.
He had to be talked down by trained negotiators and a woman who had been stabbed.
This incident began to unfold just after 11am this morning as the man made his way onto the roof of the hostel on Fisherman's Lane off Store Street in the city.
Earlier a woman suffered stab wounds at the same hostel, and was treated for her injuries before returning this afternoon.
DART services were suspended for over an hour as trained negotiators tried to talk the man down. The stand off ended just after 4pm this afternoon
The man was arrested by gardai and is being held at Store Street Garda station under the Mental Health Act. He can be held for up to 24 hours.
They are continuing their investigations into the stabbing incident.
