A woman in North Carolina was shocked when she went to put some mayonnaise on the McDonald's chicken sandwich she had just purchased.

She found a swastika symbol drawn in butter in the top of her bun.

Charleigh Matice said she was highly offended by the Nazi symbol, and immediately demanded her money back which she received.

The owner of the McDonald’s confirmed that the employee responsible had been fired and also apologised for the bizarre incident:

“We are very sorry for the service that our customers received, and to be clear we have terminated the employee who was involved. We do not tolerate that kind of behavior at McDonald’s, and it’s not what we stand for personally as owners."

”It is about providing the best level of service and care to our customers, and anything less than that is unacceptable to us.”
