A 26-year old woman has been seriously injured in car crash in Co. Cork.

The incident happened at Cow Cross in Cobh at around 5 o'clock yesterday evening - when the car she was driving collided with a 4x4.

She was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle wasn't hurt.

The scene will remain sealed off this morning until a forensic examination is carried out.
