Whitney Houston's daughter is said to be 'fighting for her life'.

The 21-year-old was taken to hospital on Saturday after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at a suburban Atlanta home.

A family representative said on Monday that Ms Brown is surrounded by immediate family and they are requesting privacy.

"We are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time," the statement read.

"Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support."

A cousin of Ms Brown, Jerod Brown, earlier told Sky News that the daughter of Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown "was doing fine".

The latest family statement did not provide any other details about Ms Brown's condition.

Ms Brown was discovered by her husband Nick Gordon and a friend in what was an eerie echo of her mother's death.

The pair performed CPR, as did medics who were called to the home in Roswell.

Whitney Houston died from accidental drowning in a bathtub at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California, in February 2012.

A coroner concluded that heart disease and cocaine use contributed to the 48-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer's death.

Houston left her entire estate to her only child, although she must wait until she is 30 to inherit everything.

However, under the terms of the will a trust administered by Houston's family was to dole out money to Ms Brown at ages 21 and 25.

Houston, a gospel singer's daughter, won six Grammy awards and sold more than 50 million records in the US alone.

Relatives of Bobbi Kristina Brown have released a statement, thanking people for their 'prayers and well-wishes'.

The 21 year-old was found by the late singer's husband and a friend at home in Georgia on Saturday.
