Weather warnings for wind and rain could be issued for Monday.

Met Éireann is forecasting unseasonably wet and windy weather towards the end of the bank holiday weekend.

For the rest of the weekend, it's expected to be cooler than usual for this time of the year.

Saturday is expected to a mix of sunshine and scattered showers.

Sunday, meanwhile, is expected to see below-average temperatures and showers during the day, ahead of wet and windy weather from Sunday night.

Met Éireann's Siobhan Ryan says there's set to be a mix of dry and wet weather this bank holiday weekend.

She said: "Temperatures will be a little disappointing given the time of year - values of around 9 to 12 degrees... for Saturday and Sunday. But at least the winds should be light.

"There should be a fair degree of dry weather both those days, but there will probably be a few well-scattered, slow-moving showers - with a risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms."

The forecast for unsettled weather over the coming days comes after the warm weather seen across the country last weekend.
