Clearer conditions, with scattered showers, will develop along western coasts later today and will extend slowly eastwards across Connacht, west Ulster and west Munster during the evening and early night.

Maximum temperatures 14 to 17 Celsius, with mostly moderate south to southeast winds at first, becoming strong along southern and eastern coasts, gradually veering northwesterly and decreasing light to moderate.

Tonight

Tonight, there will be further outbreaks of rain for a time in the eastern half of the country, but clearer weather further west will extend gradually eastwards to all parts.

A few scattered showers will follow, mainly affecting Atlantic coastal areas.

Turning cooler and fresher, in light to moderate northwesterly breezes.

Minimum 5 to 9 Celsius.
