Met Eireann's weather warnings of heavy downpours and strong winds continue today.
Spot flooding is likely as up to 60 millimetres of rain is expected - particularly in southern and western coastal counties.
Gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour are expected to batter the west coast.
Southerly winds will reach gale force today, and will reach strong gale force on west coasts from late afternoon onwards.
The rainfall warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry is in place until 11pm on Sunday night, while the wind warning for Ireland is valid until midnight tonight.
Motorists are being advised to drive with extra care today.
