A man has died and another is in hospital following a fishing accident in County Waterford.

The two men were swept off the rocks while fishing near Bunmahon at around 10 to 2 this afternoon.

The Coastguard helicopter, Tramore RNLI and other local rescue services were launched and both men were brought to University Hospital Waterford, where one of them later passed away.

The second man is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
