During U2's concert at Madison Square Garden in New York this week, Bono decided to take a moment and thank a couple of people in the crowd, one of whom was Melissa, the woman who helped him out and called 911 after his cycling accident earlier this year.
Immediately before he handed her the mic, he also thanked a group of firefighters who picked him up, and they got a huge cheer, which made what Melissa said next even worse. For some reason, she decided to insult the whole crowd and said that she went over to help Bono after his fall because "I'm not from New York, I'm from Virginia, where people are nice".
Unsurprisingly, that did not go down well, and she was summarily booed by the entire crowd until she stopped talking.
