While the common consensus was that the trailer for the much anticipated new Star Wars movie, Rogue One, would dominate the Internet on May the 4th, Disney decided to do it a bit different. Instead, the trailer for the Gareth Edwards directed movie was released early today, on the Good Morning America show.
What was known about the movie was that it is a heist flick, telling the story of a group of bounty hunters, led by British actress Felicity Jones, as they try to steal the plans to the Death Star. Canonically, the film is set in the timeline somewhere between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
Along with Jones, the film also features Mads Mikkelson, Alan Tudyk, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, and Forest Whitaker. With a score written by Alexandre Desplat, the first film in the series to break away from the well established characters, Star Wars: Rogue One is set for worldwide release on December 28th.
