Regardless of the casual viewer’s personal opinions on Scientology, there is no denying that Tom Cruise has shown an uncanny knack across his 30-year film career at picking projects always worth a watch. And now you can catch up on the best of them in less than 10 minutes, thanks to sketch performed on James Corden’s Late Late Show.
Beginning with Top Gear, the duo wearing aviator sunglasses and bomber jackets, Cruise and Corden utter the immortal line “I feel the need, the need for speed,” before hastily transitioning between a large number of Cruise’s hits, including Days of Thunder, Rain Man, Tropic Thunder, The Last Samurai, and Interview with a Vampire.
Including a special cameo appearance by a Jerry Maguire co-star and some of the dance moves performed all the way back in 1983’s Risky Business.
Cruise’s latest film, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, is released worldwide today, with the character’s creator Lee Child speaking to Philip Molloy on this Saturday’s Picture Show. Tune in from 6pm on Newstalk.com or listen back to the podcasts here.
