Which is why the more economic car enthusiast might, in a moment of madness, attempt to snatch one off a park Rolls. Which is also why the car’s engineers have designed an obnoxiously brilliant safety mechanism from stopping you doing so.
As you can see in the video below, when anyone attempts to move the hood ornament, it immediately disappears back inside the car. The feature has been standard on all Rolls Royces since 2004, and allows the owners – or their drivers – to raise it back up again from inside the car.
