A former Bohemians footballer has taken his first steps again today after receiving a prosthetic leg.
Stefan Balog had to have part of his leg amputated after an accident at home.
A glass door fell on the 20-year-old at home in Santry in June, causing catastrophic injuries.
Doctors in the Mater fought to save the leg, but ultimately had to amputate it below the knee.
He received his new prosthetic leg at Cappagh Hospital this morning.

While he will no longer be able to play with Bohemians - although plans to keep playing football with Irish amputee team - it shouldn't be long before Stefan can start walking again without crutches.
He explained: "They told me it wouldn't be long for me because I was doing so well in physio.
"I was in the Mater for nearly three weeks, and then three months in Cappagh [...] I can't wait to just get off this wheelchair, and walk with two legs."
In the meantime, he's already making plans for Halloween.
"I've decided to dress up as a robot," he laughed.
