Unemployment has fallen by almost 0.5% in just three months.
New figures published by the CSO today show the official, seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate is now 11.1% - down from 11.5% at the end of June.
The figures also show the numbers at work are now at their highest since the end of 2009 - with over 10,000 people going back to work between June and September.
The rate of people in long-term unemployment has dropped more than one percent to 6.4%.
The latest figures were released at an event in Dublin this morning.
