Today is Armistice Day, which marks the end of the First World War. Thousands of Irish men fought in the war, which lasted from 1914 to 1918.

This afternoon, the Annual Armistice Day Commemoration will take place at Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin, which will also see the opening of an exhibition on the war.

Wreaths will be laid at the Cross of Sacrifice, which has been erected to commemorate those who fought in both World Wars.
