A viable explosive device was discovered in a residential area of Dublin overnight.
The army bomb squad was called to Plunkett Drive in Finglas shortly before 1am this morning.
Locals residents were evacuated and the scene was sealed off while the device was made safe.
It has since been removed for a further examination and the area was declared safe by about 1.30am this morning.
The remains of the device have been handed over to the Gardai to help with the investigations.
The military says this is the 199th call out so far this year and brings to 93 the number of viable devices dealt with by the army bomb disposal teams.
