Now Cara Vets, who performed the procedure, are advising dog owners to be mindful of the elastic weaving-craze. The veterinary surgery posted the following warning on their Facebook page:

The loom band craze is very popular with young children, and sees them weaving together small elastic bands into intricate designs and patterns. The toy has become a massive brand in a very short period of time, with a loom band dress recently going on eBay for €215,000 - although the buyer eventually backed out.

Patches' owners suspect a child accidentally left the band on her tail, without intending to cause serious harm.
