The Health Minister says that a Fine Gael - Fianna Fáil coalition is not something he wants to see happen.
Polling figures show that a coalition between the two parties may be the only way to form a majority government after the next election.
A Behaviour & Attitudes poll published by the Sunday Times on August 15 put Fine Gael on 27, Fianna Fáil on 20, Sinn Féin on 19, Labour on 6, and independents on 24.
Leo Varadkar says that despite a new leader and new faces that Fianna Fáil is still the party who led the country into collapse.
The Minister did say that nothing is impossible but a coalition with them is not something he wants to see happen:
According to reports, Fianna Fáil last month agreed they would support a Fine Gael minority government on a vote-by-vote basis, though would not commit to a formal coalition.
