Newstalk106-108fm is looking for a Traffic Manager to join its energetic and exciting Dublin team. This person will be solely responsible for the scheduling of commercials on the radio station as well as liaising with the various departments to ensure the smooth running of all advertising campaigns.

Title:    Traffic Manager

Reporting to:   Finance Director / Sales Manager

Purpose:    To schedule client advertisements in line with the business strategy of Newstalk, in order to ensure effectiveness and maximise revenue.

Key Tasks:

  • Liaising with the production and sales departments to ensure the efficient running of advertising campaigns;
  • Daily inputting and manipulating of sales orders in Broadnet traffic system
  • Manipulating of log to ensure minutage is adhered to
  • Responsible for ensuring all correct copy is assigned which involves liaising with Adsat Production Houses and other stations on a daily basis
  • Liaising with both clients and staff to ensure adverts run accurately to guarantee customer satisfaction
  • Liaising with clients both Agency and Direct on a daily basis to ensure they receive up to date transmission times and accurate confirmations
  • Responding to client queries on a daily basis regarding advertising via email, telephone and fax
  • Running daily Revenue/Yield/Volume reports
  • Completing all month end reports
  • Interacting with Sales Team
  • Check all copy for compliance with BCI and BCC advertising guidelines.
  • Check all copy durations
  • Check logs on a daily basis for instances

Qualifications / Experience:   

  • Significant administrative skills supporting a team in a fast paced environment;
  • A highly-organised, highly-motivated individual with great time-management skills
  • Excellent Excel knowledge
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data, and make the information accessible for non–specialist colleagues
  • good writing and presentation skills
  • knowledge of the Radio market, different station and programme styles, and audience demographics
  • Familiarity with the increasing range of communications platforms, and Good understanding of the radio sales process
  • Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team
  • Self–motivation and adaptability
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, react quickly & meet tight deadlines
  • Determination, diplomacy, and good interpersonal skills
  • A thorough knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulations as they affect radio advertising
  • A high level of IT skills – particularly good word–processing and data handling skills
  • Ability to use relevant traffic management and playout software
